Google Lighthouse results for this site

I worked with SEO in the very early days of the web, many, many years ago. I'm mostly focused on what I call technical SEO. This is:

  • optimization of the site structure to be better understood by search engines (schema.org, microformats)
  • optimization of resources like CSS and JavaScript
  • minimizing markup to give more real content to the web page that the crawler is indexing

This site is built with these concepts in mind as well. Each blog article is clearly marked in HTML, and it is very easy for crawlers to understand what the most important part of the page is. Crawlers are clever, but when you help them in a technical way, it improves quality even more.

I decided to have a look at Lighthouse in the Chrome browser to see what it tells me about my website. This is what I see.

I think these results are really good. They show that the site is loading fast and it is optimized. Also, agentic browsing is what I care about because AI becomes more and more important, and it often replaces standard web search.

Best practices here are not 100% because I intentionally made my blog very light, and this is what Lighthouse complains about. It says that there is not enough contrast between text and background. However, I took special care about accessibility and screen readers, so this should be fine there. I am satisfied with this result. I think it is a very good result, and it is higher than average on the internet.
